Winter’s no time to hibernate! In fact, its a great time to get out on the trails and discover the winter wonderland that is WI Northwoods. XC skiing and snowshoeing are also excellent activities for your health. Our expert naturalists will guide you at every step of the way, from interpreting the tracks we see in snow, to providing XC ski lessons for beginners and working with you on your stride during the week. Note: ReTREEts are subject to a minimum of 8 participants. In the event of cancellation due to not filling this minimum, we will contact you 2 weeks prior to the start of the event

It’s a New Year, try new things, like XC skiing! Not only is it a great way to make the best of our long snowy season, it’s good for you too! Basic lessons will be held on campus followed by a trip to try out your new skills at the Anvil National Recreation Trail. No experience is required. Let us help you get started to see if you find a new love for this silent sport. Ski equipment is available for rental in a variety of sizes starting with European boot size 33. $15 per person.

Do you want to improve your nature photography skills but aren’t sure where to start? Join us as we get out on the trails to take some beautiful nature photos during one of the most beautiful times of the year! The weekend includes instruction (targeted towards beginners) on how to get the most out of your camera’s settings to achieve that perfect shot. Instruction will be geared towards DSLR and point-and-shoot cameras with aperture and shutter speed priority functions.
