Join Melissa Werner this summer at Superior Street Wellness! Participate in one or all of our Community Mini Classes – Thursday evenings all summer long! There will be new topics each week from area orgs and entrepreneurs. Doors open at 4:30, classes run from 5-6PM.
June 2 – Exceptional Eyebrows Did you know that your eyebrows can change your look and appearance? Lizeth Schattner (Licensed Esthetician, Certified Makeup and Lash Artist and owner of Simply Pretty Spa) will discuss options for eyebrows, and one attendee will get a free eyebrow tinting on the spot!
June 9 – Family Storytime Everyone loves a good storytime, and who better to read to us than Children’s Librarian Candice Johnson? 30 minutes of stories and fun followed by family kickball behind our building. Then we’ll all head over to Lick-A-Dee Splitz to spend our .50 off coupons!
June 16 – Electric Bikes (eBikes) are for Everyone Ready to bike and not sure which bike is best for you? Your Boat Club in Eagle River rents and sells bikes. You’ll be ready to roll after manager Dutch Deick shares about what eBike suits you and whether to rent or buy. He’ll have some eBikes for you to try out, too!
June 23 – Freeze Drying your Food Curious about home food preservation? Kelli Nellis of Misty Meadow Farm will teach the what, why, and how of freeze drying food and will share samples, too!
June 30 – Juicing for Health Beginning your juicing journey? Maybe you’re an expert! Cortnee Pinski, owner of Roots Juice, will guide you with tips on why, what, and how to juice. Samples included!
July 7 – Welcoming Guests with Hand-Crafted Cocktails In this class, Leah Rehberg of Deer Mountain Media and host of the Old Fashioned Friday Podcast, will take you through the elements of crafting three specialty cocktails at home, tips for entertaining, and simple ways to make guests feel welcome in your home.
July 14 – Keep Cool with Fun Summer Fashion We’ll learn about summer clothing trends for a variety of ages, sizes, and price points from Libby Hauser, GM at Cotton + Birch. Interested in a private shopping experience? Join us to find out how to schedule one!
July 21 – Day Hikes in the Upper Peninsula If you love the outdoors and are looking for new adventures, this one’s for you! Outdoor explorer Jen West will share her favorite UP hikes and must-see stops! Bonus: Jen is a fan of rock hunting; she can teach you how to find a treasure along the way!
July 28 – DIY Edible Bouquet Join Tasha Sookochoff, owner of Wander Wild Farm, for this inspiring hands-on presentation. Bring $15 and a small vase, and you’ll get to create your own edible bouquet!
August 4 – Creating a Simple Life Real-life tips on maximizing the hours in your day by intentionally managing your time, finances, and relationships. Amy Baumetz, the Fierce Mama, will offer suggestions to help you get a grip!
August 11 – Air Plants Everything you ever wanted to know about growing and displaying air plants in Wisconsin! Presented by Ed Hall, 40-year air plant hobbyist.
August 18 – Gardening into the Fall A fall garden can be especially abundant in the Northwoods! Jenny and Brendan Tuckey from Evergood Farm will open their discussion with tips on maximizing your fall harvest. Samples will be provided for tasting!
August 25 – Relationship Coach Do you have a relationship that’s stuck? Or needs a tune-up? Cathy Koerpel, Life Skills Coach, will explain how relationship skills make a difference as she shares some of her tips with the group.
