Three Lakes-Oneida County Ambulance Medic 10
Medic 10 is based in Three Lakes. The ambulance is housed at the Three Lakes Fire Department per the Town of Three Lakes. The ambulance service is owned by Oneida County and managed by Ascension St. Mary’s hospital in Rhinelander.
Medic 10 is an Advanced EMT (AEMT) service, providing 7/24/365 coverage. The town supports an on-call schedule.
A paramedic service was started in 2017 to service Three Lakes and Sugar Camp. This service (Medic 8) is based in Sugar Camp on Hwy A. It is owned by Oneida County and managed by Ascension St. Mary’s, providing 7/24/365 service to both communities. Coverage is provided to Hiles north by Medic 8 and 10. Our coverage area is well over 100+ miles. Medic 10 First responds with Medic 8 in the Three Lakes and Hiles area. If Medic 8 isn’t in our Three Lakes area, Medic 10 is paged to respond the Three Lakes and Hiles area.
By state law, two EMTs must respond to calls. With the Paramedic service at least one EMT must be a Paramedic and one EMT can be a basic, AEMT or Paramedic. Continued education is required to hold an EMT license.
