The Oneida County Humane Society (OCHS) serves all of Oneida County with pet services. OCHS takes in approximately 900 companion animals a year at our facility. All are vetted and spayed or neutered before adopting out to good homes. We take in animals as strays and as surrenders. Surrenders come from many circumstances such as life changes, death of owner, incarceration, or the pet simply isn’t working out. We offer many volunteer opportunities to both adults and youth wanting to work in animal welfare and welcome foster families to help with the animals. OCHS partners with the McNaughton Correctional Center to pair dogs with inmates to promote socialization and basic obedience. OCHS does not euthanize for time and space. OCHS strives to stay current on animal sheltering trends to provide the best service we can. www.ochspets.org.
