Cross Country Ski Trails

The Three Eagle Ski Trail begins on Highway 32/45 from a designated parking area about 3 miles north of the Three Lakes business district. Parking is available here as well as at the Sundstein Road end of the trail. The trail is groomed and includes a classic track as well as a “skate” lane. The trail is about 10 miles or 16 kilometers long going out and back.

Nicolet National Forest Ski Trails
• Anvil Trail – One of the most popular cross country ski trails in the area, groomed for classic skiing and some for skating. The terrain varies from fairly flat to gently rolling with some hilly sections. Trails are marked for degree of difficulty. This trail connects with the Nicolet North Trail system.

• Nicolet North Trail – A favorite for cross country skiers, hikers and mountain bikers. 42 Kilometers are groomed and tracked for both classic and skate skiing. This trail is connected to the Anvil Trail and the Hidden Lakes Trail.

The cross country ski trails at Camp Luther are open to the public during the winter months. Stop in their office to register, or call Camp Luther for more information at 715-546-3637 or 877-264-CAMP.


NORTHWOODS ZIP LINE is one of Wisconsin’s largest, longest, and most exciting tours; located right here in the northwoods! With 8 Zip Lines, 6 adventure bridges, over 1 mile of on-line cable fun, 1,000 ft. zip over a Lake, views of Lake Minocqua, double-decker platforms with trap doors, zip lines over 100 feet in the air, duel race zip, tour constructed within the treetops of Red & White Pine trees; we truly are a WORLD-CLASS CANOPY TOUR.

Snowshoeing is another great way to get acquainted with the beauty and splendor of the northwoods. Maps and information on the following nearby snowshoe trails may be obtained at the Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.

Nicolet National Forest Snowshoe Trails

  • Franklin Nature Trail – Length 1 mi.
  • Hidden Lakes Trail – Length 15 mi.
  • Sam Campbell Trail – Length 2.5 mi.
  • Scott Lake Trail – Length .3 mi.
  • Sevenmile Trail – Length 2 mi.
  • Spectacle-Kentuck Trail – Length 2.5 mi.
