“With a reverence for jazz singing, my influences span many styles,” Planet explained. She has over 35 years experience in her career and has found success as a performer, recording artist, producer, teacher and clinician. While Planet originally began as a folk singer, a classic recording by Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley changed it all and “Nancy Wilson’s straight tone drew me in.” Tickets: $25, 12 and under $5

This creative saxophone sextet came up with the name “Moanin’ Frogs” by blending 1914 and 1916 hits, “Moanin’ Sax Rag” and “Bull Frog Blues.” Performing at The Kennedy Center, shows across the country and in France, regular play on Detroit Public TV and much more are getting this young group the recognition they deserve!
